Patience… my problem is that I have none.

I would try to learn to have more patience and make my life simpler, but maybe my even bigger problem is that I don’t want to be patient. Much like a drug addict or an alcoholic has to want to be sober, I have to want patience to be patient.

I want what I want and I want it NOW. Sounds a lot like a certain little girl in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory – but it’s the effing truth.

I want (a lot maybe, but more than anything else…) to be a full time mom. Right now, I am a full time sit at the computer and wish I was at home mom.

I know patience is a virtue – but I WANT IT NOW. I’m tired of waiting for this. Roxy is 3 already – if I have to wait much longer, she’s gonna be in school.

This is making me depressed…

As of approximately 9:30 AM this morning, the Franklins are officially on their way to become Florida Franklins (formerly WV Franklins). I am so excited to finally have my Butha in the same state as me – let’s hope it sticks this time…

Well, I finally made it to Friday and am looking forward to my favorite part of the week – the WEEKEND. This weekend is Father’s Day and we are prepared with a huge present (under blankets in my garage) for Daddy. I know, it is so unlike me to be prepared this much in advance. Let’s hope a certain 3 year old can contain the surprise for another day and a half.

The Plan: Awesome Breakfast*, Present and cards for Daddy – then… The Beach.
*may or may not include the following: bacon, hash browns, chocolate chip-banana pancakes, eggs and coffee (of course!)

Since this is Father’s Day weekend, I want to say a couple things:

Thank You to my Father for being a wonderful and doting Daddy. Wish we were closer to you – we miss you!, and

Thank You, Christopher for being the best Father to my children I could ever ask for. I feel a Top Ten list coming on…

1. Is the most patient person I’ve ever met (this is important, since I have none).
2. Plays Dollies, Transformers, Princesses, Legos, etc.
3. Understands 1 year old gibberish and 3 year old whiny English.
4. Always has kisses to give.
5. Is the best tickler/wrestler.
6. Gets up in the middle of the night!!!
7. Can fix ANYTHING.
8. Makes everyone coffee on demand.
9. Doesn’t mind dealing with the dirty stuff (i.e. poop).
10. Keeps Mommy happy.

And then… he was pooped.

First of all – Holy Crap. I sure am neglecting this blog. I thought that it would be an awesome and easy way to get pictures and exciting events to family and friends that don’t live so near, but geez – I get so occupied with other things I tend to forget to do this stuff. Bad Tabi..

I just read this article about Helicopter Moms, for those of you who need a definition (I did), from Wikipedia:

Helicopter Mom: These parents rush to prevent any harm or failure from befalling them and will not let them learn from their own mistakes, sometimes even contrary to the children’s wishes. They are so named because, like helicopters, they hover closely overhead, rarely out of reach, whether their children need them or not.

So, the other day, we were at Cameron’s Baseball / T-Ball game. Roxy spotted two little girls playing and went to join them (she is slowly getting over her shyness – which is awesome). These girls I can tell were sisters and were probably a year or two older than Roxy. I can tell they were trying to get Roxy to play Tag with them. Roxy didn’t really get it, so she just kind of chased them around. I think the girls got a little annoyed at Roxy because she wasn’t playing properly, so they started telling her to “Shoo!”

First of all, you don’t tell a kid to “Shoo” – boy these girls were rude! So, before Roxy got her feelings hurt, I ran over and said I had to fix her hair. Her hair was fine, but I wanted her to get away from these little mean girls before she realized that they were trying to get rid of her in a not-so-nice way.

Roxy at first was annoyed that I took her away from her “friends”, but loves getting her hair ‘pretty’ so she let me braid her hair into two cute little braids. When she was done getting beautiful, she found two little boys playing in the dirt and joined them and was a happy camper.

So, after reading the article about Helicopter Moms, I’m thinking… is that what I am? Did I swoop in to save my Roxy instead of letting her experience the rejection from the not-so-nice girls?

Will I be ‘that Mom’ that fixes all their problems and never let them experience rejection or sadness. Will I pass down the anxiety that I feel (all the time) to them and they will have the same issues I do – worry worry worry all the time?

Well that is NOT what I want.

But I also don’t ever want any little girl to gang up on my Roxy and tell her to “Shoo!” That’s just mean.

So, Butha and her clan are out of the house and, though it is eerily quiet now in the House of Deneweth – I kinda feel like things are settling in back to normal. Which is nice!
I realize that I haven’t posted pictures from Wade’s wedding yet – which was like 3 weeks ago!!! and I need to do it – I will. Also, Roxy is starting Soccer this week – so there will be pics of that too.

One more thing… I just wanted to proclaim to anyone that is reading this how thankful and blessed I feel. I have the BEST husband in the world and the awesomest kids! Not to mention the greatest friends and family anyone could ever ask for. Just had to say it…

Oh – and Happy St. Paddy’s Day!!!

I actually feel pretty good about it – AND I got to work on time.

Anyways – Roxy really did a great job and fulfilled all her flower girl duties nicely. I will post pictures soon – I swear!

Four kids, two swings…

Please God, help me to find a way to be home with my babies more. Every morning when I wake up and have to rush off to my 9 to 5, instead of spending time with my beautiful children, I get sadder and sadder…

So, please help me to find a way to be home with my family… but not in a weird Genie way – where every wish I make ends in a horrible way. Like if I lost my job and I stayed home and we ended up homeless… or I got hit by a bus and lost a limb or something. Something nice, please.
